YouTube is one of those tech toys that can resolve your issues with tutorial on demand. Let me know what you learned on YouTube recently.

Two minutes of rap music never hurt anyone, please check this out. It is a great little outline about adult learning principles.

  3. I've had friends and colleagues tell me about things they've learned on YouTube. I myself am a single mother of two teenagers. My son recently graduated from high school. As many of you know, the seniors have about a week of senior activities leading up to graduation. For one of the events, the students were required to wear a tie. I am his mother, who lacks the experience of tieing ties. YouTube definitely came in handy for the both of us. After watching a how-to a few times on YouTube, we were both able to tie ties. It gave me piece of mind knowing that this sort of information can be accessed by us all via the internet. Best invention since libraries and sliced cheese!!

  4. Nyja, thanks for sharing your adult learning experience from YouTube. This is a great example of YouTube fulfilling the adult learning principle of learning only what you need. It's great when you can skip algebra and go straight to neck ties!

  5. I honestly haven't thought of YouTube as a learning tool but will consider it now.

    1. Start with something you are personally interested in, just to practice navigating around YouTube; then look into Khan Academy for some amazing educational options and a brand new way to learn.

  6. youtube has some great learning opportunities. you should see what my students come up with! just ask them to find something on the web, and bang! there it is, large as life! most of the younger students are very tech savvy.

  7. Hi Nicole - I think YouTube is a valuable learning resource as well. I have learned about various medical procedures that myself or my family members needed, through watching videos of them on YouTube.

    1. Carolyn that's another perfect example. It's pretty much Doctors without Borders for home remedies. It's great for people like me that haven't the patience to be a patient in the waiting room. I'll look up a "cure" in a heartbeat.

  8. Hi Nicole, I just subscribed to Youtube today to upload a video that I had saved on my computer that was created with Camtasia Studio. My Blog said that I had to upload videos either from Youtube, my phone or a webcam. So, I chose Youtube. I found out that the video must be a certain length or it cannot be published. Luckily I had several small videos regarding the same thing that I could use in the editor and create one bigger video that was long enough to publish. Then I could upload that video to my Blog page. It was really great!

    1. Excellent! Thanks for sharing the file size issue, I had not considered that but now I understand why some people have so many uploads having to parse the content. I cannot wait to see your contribution.
